Production,Distribution,Marketing,Exhibtion

PRODUCTION

Production is the making of and creation and the process that takes place before a movie is made. It involves an initial story, idea, through scriptwriting, dealing with finances, handling with the staffs accommodation, casting and shooting.  

In post-production these tasks are done:
  • ·      Editing video footage
  • ·      Editing the soundtrack, adding sound effects, music, etc.
  • ·      Adding titles and graphics
  • ·      Colour and exposure correction
  • ·      Adding special effects
  • ·      Re-shooting certain scenes if required

DISTRIBUTION

Once the movie is completed. A film company or individual responsible for realising films and getting it out to its audience in the theatre or online like DVD, Video on demand , download , television programmes through broadcast syndication etc. 

MARKETING

After the film company knows how the movie is going to be distributed. The techniques that are used to market different target audience on getting publicity on a film or movie are done:
      In theatres: Trailers are a main publicity for a film because they are delivered directly to movie-goers. They show them in theatres before movie showings.
      In Television they show quick 30 second adverts about the movie mainly the most epic scenes to get people interested in the movie and radio promotion.
      The internet via twitter or YouTube adverts.
      Promotional tour: Film actors, directors, and producers appear for television, radio, and print media interviews, sometimes showing a clip from the film or an outtake. After film release, key personnel make appearances in major market cities or participate remotely via "satellite" or telephone a famous example of this is when batman the dark knight rises got released it had many movie premiers in London and Ney York.

EXHIBITION
      Exhibition is the retail branch of the film industry. It involves their public screening, usually for paying customers in a site devoted to such screenings, the movie theatre.
